  • Cation exchange resin with narrow particle size distribution was prepared by centrifugal boundary film emulsification technology, and the drug-resin complex was prepared by static adsorption method using the resin as the drug carrier. Subsequently, guanfacine hydrochloride coated microcapsules (GFN-CM) were prepared by emulsion solvent evaporation technology, and a sustained-release (ER) suspension of guanfacine hydrochloride (GFN) was successfully prepared based on GFN-CM. The experimental results solidly supported a promising and scalable sodium polystyrene sulfonate resin (PSSNa) technology and advanced a novel formulation strategy for sustained-release pharmaceuticals, thus providing valuable technical insights and potential applications for future developments in pharmaceutical ER systems.
