Five Isoflavonoid Compounds from the Roots of Caragana sinica

Abstract: The roots of Caragana sinica (Buc'hoz) Rehd is a Chinese folk medicine used for the treatment of asthenia syndrome, vascular hypertension, leukorrhagia, arthrodynia, and as antiinflammatory agent From the ethanolic extract of the roots of C-sinica, five isoflavonoid compounds were isolated and identified as flemichapparin B, formononetin, pseudobaptigenin, 5-hydroxy-7,4'-dimethoxy isoflavone and 5-hydroxy-7-methoxy-3',4'-methylenedioxy isoflavone.
