Abstract: Twelve compounds 1~12 were obtained from the root of Stellera chamaejasme L. Five (2,3,5,7,8) of them have been elucidated by spectroscopic and physico-chemical measurements as umbelliferone (2), β-sitosterol (3), daucosterol (5), daphnoretin (7) and 7-methoxydaphnoretin (8). Compound 8 is a new compound named isodaphnoretin. Compound 2, 5 and 8 were isolated for the first time from this plant.
