Purification of Inositol. Studies on the Phase Equilibrium of the System C6H12O6-NH4Cl-C2H5OH/H2O (C2H5OH/H2O = 0.90, by wt) at 35 ºC

Abstract: The solubilities and the refractive indices of the saturated solution in the system C6H12O6-NH4Cl-C2H5OH-H2O (C2H5OH/H2O = 0.90, by wt) at 35 ºC have been determined. The isotherms and refractive indices of the system at 35 ºC consist of 2 branches, corresponding to C6H12O6/H2O and NH4Cl. The composition of eutectic solution is C6H12O6: 4.40 %, NH4Cl: 13.86 %, C2H5OH: 38.88 %.
